Regions of the Future: Leveraging Digital and Green Technologies to Drive Innovation
Economic, social, and territorial cohesion at the national and European levels has been a critical challenge for Europe over the past decades. This is especially true if we look at the innovation capacity of different European regions and the different paces and attitudes with which they approach technological innovation.
How can policymakers drive forward innovation in their constituencies while ensuring that no one is left behind? What is the untapped potential of interregional collaboration in the digital and green transition? What does the future actually look like across Europe’s different regions? This OED120 Policy Dee-Dive offered policymakers the opportunity to discuss how the demand for technological innovation capabilities is felt across Europe and learn from experts how complementarity in technological capabilities can be strategically leveraged to help mitigate the disruptive effects of current and future innovations.
The activity took place online on Tuesday, 7 November 2023, from 16:00 to 18:00 (CET).
OED120 POLICY DEEP-DIVES
The OED120 Policy Deep-Dive format allows parliamentarians to receive a concise briefing, ask questions to an expert and discuss, with colleagues, a narrowly defined topic during a 120-minute video call. The OED provides professional facilitation to extract the most value out of the discussions. Policymakers get the chance to share their perspectives with their colleagues while having topic expertise on hand for questions and clarifications. Topics are chosen as they emerge through other network activities as ripe for a more in-depth discussion, or they are suggested by members of the network, or flagged by the network of OED researchers and experts. MP network members can initiate these calls and volunteer their expertise on a topic of their choosing.
Our activities are for Open European Dialogue network members only. Not a network member yet? Find out how to become one.
