Enlargement in Focus: A Cross-Party Dialogue with Cyprus’ Upcoming EU Presidency

On 13 October 2025, from 16:00 to 17:00 CEST, the Open European Dialogue will convene Members of Parliament from across Europe for a special roundtable exploring the question of EU enlargement in the context of Cyprus’ upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The dialogue will provide space to explore questions around enlargement as a security challenge, its implications for the EU’s strategic autonomy, prospects in the Western Balkans, and the financial dimensions linked to the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).

The sixty-minute online meeting will be a closed-door, cross-party, and cross-border conversation, held under the Open European Dialogue’s House Rules. The format ensures balanced participation and candid exchanges, enabling parliamentarians to share perspectives, compare experiences, and take away concrete insights relevant to their national and European work.
